Installing Python & Running main.py on Windows
(Don't worry, there's only 2 parts to it)
- Download the executable for Windows by clicking Here
- Open "File Explorer"
- Look For a file named "python-3.14.7-amd64" (it might also end in .exe)
- Double click that file to run it and you will see a window pop up that says "Install Python 3.14.7 (64-bit)". Do not Click "Install Now" Yet
- Check the box at the bottom that says "Add python.exe to PATH" and then you can click "Install Now".
- Wait for it to finish Loading and then it will say "Setup Was Successful".
- You can now Click "close" in the bottom right hand corner
Congratulations! You have now installed python and are 50% there to running the main program.
If you haven't Already, Please first, make sure you have clicked the big purple download button and unzipped the archive.
(The instructions to do this can be found on this site by clicking "Need Help" and then "Whats a .7z file and how do I use it?")
In your downloads folder you should now have a folder called "Encryptor-v7.0.0", Double Click it to open it.
Pre-Run Setup:
- Double Click the file called "Setup_&_Vault-Gen.py"
- Type "1" then press Enter
- Press Enter again to confirm the requirements.txt contains the listed items
- Wait for the setup to run, text will appear on the screen but you don't need to do anything, if prompted for "Do you want to install this", Type "y" and press enter
- Now double click on the file called "Setup_&_Vault-Gen.py" (Again)
- Type in "2" and press Enter
- Type in the name of the friend you are going to send messages to and press Enter
- Wait for it to get to "Made 1028 of 1028"
- Press Enter to exit the setup
- Double Click the folder called "Vault"
- Send your friend the newly made file with their name on and ask them to rename it to your name and move it to their Vault folder
Note: Your friend doesnt need to do steps 5-11 if you did them already
- Go back to the main folder and double click the "PGPKeys" folder
- Click "public.asc" once to highlight it
- On your Keyboard press Ctrl+C then Ctrl+V to duplicate the file
- Rename "public (2).asc" to yourname.asc
- Send that renamed file to your friend (you can delete your renamed copy once you have sent it)
- Tell your friend to put it in their PGPKeys Folder and then do steps 12-16 with their own public.asc file.
Congratulations! You have finished setup and are ready to use the program 🎉.
Sending and Receiving messages:
If you haven't already, please go through the setup steps then you can continue
- Double Click "main.py"
- You will see a list of Vault file(s), Select the one of the person you are talking with by typing in it's number and pressing enter
- Do the same when you see the list of PGP keys
Note: Your and friend will need to go through steps 1-3 to be ready to receive or send any messages
To Send a message:
- Enter the message you would like to send then press Enter and wait.
- When you see =><=, your message is made (it's in between > and <)
- You can either send it as it is (with => and <=) or you can type out a sentence and put it in between any letters and delete the <= at the end first and then use the arrow keys and press the left arrow key until you see the cursor go in between the = and the > then press the right arrow key ONCE and press delete twice and send the message
To Receive a message:
- Copy the message sent to you
- Paste in the message (you don't need to get rid of the =><=) and press enter
- It will automatically detect it's encrypted and decrypt it so please wait.
- It will then show you the message and wait for you to either send a message or receive one
Note: if your friend is making a message you must first wait to receive it before sending a message
